Meet Kristy Gargano

Kristy Gargano, MSW, LCSW, CYT is a licensed clinical social worker, digital course instructor and certified yoga teacher who uses a holistic approach to support her client’s unique and individual needs. She obtained her master’s in social work at Aurora University and completed her specialized yoga and mindfulness training for professionals through Per La Vita Wellness. Through her work, Kristy has experience working with teens, young adults, adults, couples, and families. Her focus in her practice includes adults who face struggles related to stress and stress-related illnesses, anxiety, depression, trauma and emotional neglect, and self-esteem.

Kristy understands that therapy is not “one-size-fits-all”, and believes everyone has different needs. She strives to provide personalized and practical care that also utilizes evidence-based and experiential approaches such as mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), yoga-informed psychotherapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), neuroaffective relational model (NARM) among others, and continues to learn and be informed on techniques that best serve her client’s needs. Most importantly, Kristy is dedicated to her clients, finds and highlights their strengths, and walks alongside them on their journey to live their lives more fully.

When not working, Kristy enjoys working out, trying new restaurants, traveling with her husband, spending time with her dog, Mr. Wellington, getting outdoors, reading, and making time to journal or do art.
